James Boschman started to sleep better and was 'not crazy anymore' within three weeks of starting to eat flax seeds regularly. Flax seed is the most concentrated vegetarian source of omega 3 fatty acids.
Boschman spoke about how the lack of omega-3 in our diets is a major contributor to the increasing incidence of mental illness in our society. Food manufacturers do not use ingredients high in omega-3 fatty acids because they turn rancid quickly. Instead they use hydrogenated oils which are not good for us but have the advantage of a long shelf life.
