Flaxseeds, Omega 3 and Osteoporosis

Another study has just confirmed the importance of flaxseeds in the treatment of bones that become increasingly fragile with age.

Researchers led by Dr Hana Hamdi in Egypt found that foods containing omega-3 help fight bone weakening enzymes in the body and activate the production of the needed hormones to maintain healthy bones and prevent osteoporosis.

Dr Hamdi found that soy products, flaxseeds and ginseng roots have proven to be effective treatments to strengthen the body against osteoporosis that affects women especially after menopause. Osteoporosis affects women four times as often as men.
